When Appellation Healdsburg, one of Sonoma County’s most anticipated luxury hotels, set out to create a destination that celebrates wine, food, and artistry, they chose Heritage Vine to craft a cellar worthy of the region’s reputation. For Heritage Vine, this was more than another project — it was a milestone. Completing a cellar in the heart of California’s wine country represents a return to the source of fine wine culture, where craftsmanship, hospitality, and terroir meet.

The Vision

Appellation’s team envisioned a cellar that would both serve and inspire — a refined space to house curated selections, highlight regional winemakers, and serve as a centerpiece for private tastings. The design needed to balance modern sophistication with warm natural materials, aligning with the hotel’s ethos of elevated simplicity. Heritage Vine was tasked with creating a custom architectural wine racking system that would harmonize with the hotel’s contemporary design language while meeting the practical needs of professional storage and display.

The Craftsmanship

Every inch of the cellar was handcrafted at Heritage Vine’s production facility, where our artisans built a racking system that combines precision-milled mahogany and custom-milled rods for a timeless look and enduring strength.

The Installation

Our installation team worked closely with Appellation’s design and construction partners to ensure a flawless fit and finish. The cellar’s modular sections were assembled on-site with millimeter precision, ensuring alignment with the architectural lighting and climate control systems. Despite a tight construction schedule, Heritage Vine completed the project on time and on spec, delivering a centerpiece that perfectly reflects the hotel’s commitment to excellence.
